Villa Blanche

It’s the 10th year anniversary of the cosy little nook, best known for its Sunday brunch & health food; Villa Blanche, located in the quaint beautiful & scenic village of Assagao.
This garden restaurant put together ever so tastefully, serving mouth-watering delicacies, whether you are vegetarian or non-vegetarian, vegan or prefer food that’s gluten free. With a very creative & fusion cuisine, right from German to Italian one can get that satisfaction of eating a wholesome home cooked meal made with love. Sunday brunch, highly recommended by us, even if you are the health conscious types. Surely one of my favourite all day diners in Goa. Stay tuned for their dinner service starting soon!!

Hugo – The classic German cocktail made with a specific ingredient called elderflower, which owner Yogini hand picks during summer in Germany. Put together with a dash of white wine, soda, lime & mint. Go ahead, order a pitcher on a warm ‘Goa’ day..

Marinated tofu with Goan brown rice & tossed vegetables – Talk about taking local produce to international levels!! Tofu marinated in a soya & ginger marinade, grilled & served with a pilaf made from Goan brown rice. Note: A vegan hot seller.

Zucchini & feta cheese Quiche – If there is one thing I really appreciate is a good Quiche, & villa Blanche is the place that never disappoints. In a very home style way, surely gives the feel of ‘mama’s food’..
Beetroot salad: A beetroot salad, that’s totally out of the world. Tossed slices of beetroot, in a house dressing, with fresh strawberries, pomegranate & sprigs of dill. Ooh.. & did I mention about the fresh rocket lettuce!!

Beef meat balls with potato salad – Classic German grilled meat balls, full of flavour, with a dash of mustard; absolutely out of the world. Served with a side of German potato salad, with vegan mayonnaise!!

Prawns in honey orange brandy sauce with tossed vegetables & soba noodles – Talk about comfort food at its best!! Slow cooked prawns in a mouth-watering orange & brandy sauce, with soba noodles, tossed & served with herb vegetables.

Gluten free chocolate cake with Vegan strawberry ice-cream – Honestly, you won’t even know the difference. The cake is moist, like any chocolate cake, but tastier. The ice-cream, simply wow.. made from ingredients like soya milk & fresh strawberries, totally took me to a whole new side of food. Who said healthy food doesn’t taste good; its great!!

Eggless chocolate cake – Even vegans have a great option!! The Eggless chocolate cake too was a shocker for a hardcore non-vegetarian like me. Kudos to the hard work put in by the Villa Blanche team & thanks for the great experience.
