One of my all time favourite monsoon snacks, , also makes a super desert for the vegans?? Made with rice & jaggery Patoleo makes a perfect tea time snack. Our Catholic brethren make it on the 15th of August to celebrate the ‘Assumption of Mary’ feast, & soon after our Hindu brethren for ‘Naag Panchmi’. Ingredients
Rice – 1 cup
Grated coconut – 2no.
Jaggery – 250gm
Cardamom (powdered) – 8no.
Turmeric leaves – 4no.
Water – ½ cup
Salt to taste

Method:
Soak the Rice for three hours & grind with water to make a semi thick dough. Add some salt to the dough.
Mix together the jaggery, grated coconut and cardamom powder for the stuffing.
Take a bit of the rice dough, place it in the center and spread evenly on the leave.
After the dough is completely coated over the leave, add the filling on one half on the leave.
Fold the leave and press the edges to seal it.
Place the stuffed leaves in a steamer and steam for 20 min. Peel the leaf off & serve.
